One of Prof. Zwarico's primary research interests is inextending this formalism so that it can be used in the specificationand analysis of real-time systems and also systems with probabilisticbehavior. Research in this area has produced semantic models for bothreal-time and probabilistic processes as well as logics for reasoningabout these processes.
In addition, she has used some of the techniques from process algebrain the verification of both synchronous and asynchronous circuits. Inconjunction with Prof. Smith, Prof. Zwarico has developed and provencorrect a method of synthesizing correct gate-level descriptions ofcircuits. She and Prof. Smith are also investigating various areas inthe semantics of object oriented programming.

Selected Publications
Scott Smith and Amy E.
