He was a visiting scholar at the University of Washington in1979-80 and joined the faculty permanently in 1983 after serving onthe faculties of Yale and Purdue. During 1987-88 he was a visiting scholarat MIT and Harvard.<P>Professor Snyder's research has ranged from proofs of theundecidability of properties of programs to the design and developmentof a 32 bit single chip (CMOS) microprocessor, the Quarter Horse. Hecreated the Configurable Highly Parallel (CHiP) architecture, thePoker Parallel Programming Environment and is co-inventor of ChaoticRouting. Following the completion of the Blue CHiP Project he is nowPrincipal Investigator for the Orca Project and the NWLIS.<P>Professor Snyder is an associate editor of the ``Journal of Computerand Systems Sciences,'' parallel systems editor of the ``Journal ofthe ACM,'' and area editor for "IEEE Transactions on Parallel andDistributed Systems." He has served on the National Science FoundationAdvisory Committee of the Division of Computer Research and participates on numerous national advisorycommittees on future research directions in parallel computation andcomputer science policy. He served on the ACM Distinguished DoctoralDissertation Award selection committee, chairing it in 1988. In 1989he was program chair for the first Symposium on Parallel Algorithmsand Architectures.<P>In addition to the dozen students who have completed doctoral degreesunder his direction, Professor Snyder has guided numerous masters and seniorprojects.<P></BODY>⌨️ 快捷键说明
