To see how I preparedfor my career in academia, you might want to have a look at my <!WA10><ahref="http://www.math.grin.edu/~stone/education.html">educational background</a>. <P>I'm the principal investigator for a three-year study (1994-97) entitled``In-class experiential learning in four fundamental courses,'' funded by a<!WA11><A HREF="http://www.math.grin.edu/mathlan/NSF-proposal.ps">grant</A> from the Instrumentation andLaboratory Improvement Program of the National Science Foundation. <P>At Grinnell, I'm the chair of the <!WA12><ahref="http://www.grin.edu/~lingweb/">Linguistics ConcentrationCommittee</a> and of the <!WA13><A HREF="http://www.math.grin.edu/~stone/academic-computing/">Academic ComputingCommittee</A>, I'm a member of the Selection Committee for the RobertN.
