These practical applications have includedplacement, motion planning, shape comparison, vision, sensing, and <!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3><!WA3> mesh generation.
My work on mesh generation is one example of the geometric issues thatarise as part of the problem of automatically generating scientificsoftware. The goal here is to raise the level at which such software isspecified by developing an environment in which scientific software canbe created using the natural, high-level, mathematical concepts ofphysics and engineering. Thus a program is specified implicitly as acollection of mathematical equations. Geometric and symbolic techniquesare then used to transform these mathematical expressions into effectiveprograms.
<!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4><!WA4>MyOnline Tech Reports
<!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5><!WA5>Cornell Department of ComputerScience
<!WA6><!WA6><!WA6><!WA6><!WA6><!WA6><!WA6><!WA6><!WA6><!WA6><!WA6><!WA6><!WA6><!WA6><!WA6><!WA6>The SimlabProject

Address
    721 Rhodes Hall Cornell University Ithaca, NY 14853 Tel: (607) 255-9217 FAX: (607) 255-4428
