My area of research is artificial intelligence with an emphasison machine learning. My research is focused on exploring theinteractions among different types of clusterings of first-orderlogic descriptions. I am also interested in data mining. Myadvisor is <!WA6><ahref="http://cswww.vuse.vanderbilt.edu/~dfisher">Dr. Douglas H.Fisher</a>.<p>I am being funded by the <!WA7><ahref="http://www.mc.vanderbilt.edu/vumcdept/dbmi.html">Division of Biomedical Informatics</a> at<!WA8><a href="http://www.mc.vanderbilt.edu/vumc/">Vanderbilt University Medical Center</a>as part of collaboration between theComputer Science Department and the Informatics Division. I amworking on an intelligent interface between the hospital'sorder-entry computer system and the hospital's pharmacy computersystem. I am particularlyinterested in applying machine learning techniques to the vastamounts of data in hospital databases in an effort to providebetter decision support to health care professionals.<p>My M.S. degree is from Vanderbilt in computer science. The title of my M.S. paper is <em> Automating the Search forMultiple Data Models </em>.My B.S. degree is from <!WA9><A HREF= "http://www.tntech.edu">Tennessee Technological University </A> in mathematics. <P>My wife, Lori (email:<!WA10><a href="mailto:talbertl@ten-nash.ten.k12.tn.us"><em>talbertl@ten-nash.ten.k12.tn.us</em></a>)is a and German teacher at Maplewood High Schooland Stratford High School here in Nashville.
