After that, I worked for about threeyears with Machine Learning and Parallel and Distributed Computing, being advised by <!WA6> Prof.Márcio de Carvalho , in the <!WA7> CSDepartment of UFMG . Those were basically my junior and senioryears, as well as the first year of my studies towards an MSc degree inBrazil. In the last six months of my enrollment as a student at UFMG, Ialso worked with Dextrous Manipulation, still under the supervision ofProf. Márcio, but then being also co-advised by <!WA8><AHREF="http://www.dcc.ufmg.br/~mario/"> Prof. Mário Campos .If you speak portuguese, you can check the list of my publicationsduring this period in <!WA9> myhome page in Brazil .Finally, since I started my studies towards a PhD in Rochester,I've been supervised by <!WA10><AHREF="http://www.cs.rochester.edu:80/u/brown/> Prof. Chris Brown .The general area of my current research is Computer Vision. Morespecifically, I'm interested in (robust) pose estimation algorithms formodel-based vision and in approaches for combining different timeseries predictors like Kalman and Lattice filters. Recently, I'vebeen also co-advised by Prof. Helder Araújo , who stayed in Rochester for one year, as a visiting researcher.

(Some of) My Other Academic Activities:

CSC 240
I'm currently serving as a Teaching Assistant for <!WA11><AHREF="http://www.cs.rochester.edu/u/dana/> Prof. Dana Ballard , inthe course <AHREF="http://www.cs.rochester.edu/users/faculty/dana/outline.html">``The Computational Brain'' .
