He spent two years writing anemail client and a portable visual object library for <!WA6><!WA6><!WA6><!WA6><!WA6><!WA6><!WA6><!WA6><ahref="http://www.odestasys.com">Odesta Systems Corporation</a>.He left there for the <!WA7><!WA7><!WA7><!WA7><!WA7><!WA7><!WA7><!WA7><a href="http://www.ils.nwu.edu">Institute for theLearning Sciences</a> in 1992, where hewrote educational and traning software in Macintosh Common Lisp, and thenimplemented a simulated environment for educating high school studentscalled the <!WA8><!WA8><!WA8><!WA8><!WA8><!WA8><!WA8><!WA8><a href="http://bert.ils.nwu.edu/games/games.html">GAMESProject</a>.</p><p>Cliff is now a graduate student in the <!WA9><!WA9><!WA9><!WA9><!WA9><!WA9><!WA9><!WA9><ahref="http://www.cs.utexas.edu">Computer Sciences</a> Ph.D. program at <!WA10><!WA10><!WA10><!WA10><!WA10><!WA10><!WA10><!WA10><ahref="http://www.utexas.edu">UT Austin</a>. He hangs out in the <!WA11><!WA11><!WA11><!WA11><!WA11><!WA11><!WA11><!WA11><a href="http://www.cs.utexas.edu/users/qr/robotics.html">Robotics Lab</a>annoying people with his hair-brained schemes about meaning,non-symbolic representation, and artificial life.</p><p>When not programming, Cliff sleeps. In his dreams, he reads and writes fiction; listens to Ali Farka Toure and Medeski, Martin and Wood; watches MST3K reruns; plays on his Korg DS-8; and rides his bike all over. Turnons include: breakfast in bed, new system versions, and <!WA12><!WA12><!WA12><!WA12><!WA12><!WA12><!WA12><!WA12><a href="http://voyager.paramount.com/images/VOYPER01.GIF">raspy-voiced Starfleet captains</a>.
