Kernel Debug Trace Viewer for IA64 Targets
==========================================

This directory contains files implementing a trial 64-bit version of 
Compuware Debug Monitor tool. 32-bit version of Debug Monitor
is shipped with Compuware DriverStudio and SoftICE Suite products.

Installation instructions on a IA64 machine
===========================================

1. Copy file dbgmsg.sys to your systems driver directory (usually c:\windows\system32\drivers)

2. Copy files monitor.exe and tools.chm to your tools directory
 
3. Double-click on file dbgmsg64.reg to add driver information to the registry

4. Start the driver manually (net start DBGMSG) or Reboot

Run monitor.exe from your tools directory to watch kernel mode traces.

Known Anomalies
===============

* No automatic install is provided. Please follow the manual install instructions above

* When started for a first time Monitor.exe might prompt to disable mewory-write protection. Click yes and reboot.

* No remote functionality is supported. Single machine trace viewer mode only is implemented

* Win64 user mode debug trace intercept is not implemented. Kernel mode traces only are supported

* Help file won't start on Help. Click on Tools.chh manually to get help information
