This directory contains an example of how to connect to BarTender's ActiveX Automation interface from Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0.  To view the source code of this example you must have Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 installed.  You may have to reference  BarTender by within Visual Basic 6.0 by going to the "Project" menu option, then choosing "references" and then checking the BarTender check box.

This example illustrates how to programmatically:

Start an Instance of BarTender
Open a label format
Change the Printer
Export the Label Image to the Windows Clipboard
Set the number of Identical & Serialized Copies
Count the Number of Shared Sub-Strings on the label
Set the Visibility
Count the number of formats BarTender has open at one time
Send Data from your application directly to a sub-string on the label
Print Out the format
Quit the BarTender program
