()underline Capabilities()error Input -The input stage allows you to convert your files from low level formats(such as Gerber, Excellon Drill, DXF,HPGL, etc.) to the ODB++ standard,to allow the operations listed below.()error Cleanup and Analysis - The cleanup process prepares the data for effective analysis. The level ofcleanup needed depends again on the originating system. The analysis processes which follow the cleanup verify the correctness and the manufacturability of the design. This stage can be automated depending on the specific requirements of the manufacturer/designer.()error Editing and Optimization -Genesis provides a very large set of tools for automatic and manual editing and optimization of design data. These tools start at single board editing, continue to panelization and manufacturing tool preparation, and finish at 3D design of the board stackup, adhering to thickness and impedance constraints.()error Output -Once the job is complete and ready for production, Genesisprovides a large set of tools for sophisticated output file generation.Output tools cover generation of data for bare-board fabrication (artwork files,drill files, rout files, stackup construction, and netlists). Using standard programming languages (csh, perl, Tcl/Tk and C), combined with the Genesis commands and routines, system users can streamline their operation to an automatic and cost effective process.()underline Requirements- A UNIX or NT workstation with: - 128MB RAM or more - 2GB Disk or above- A hardware key (dongle)obtained from Frontline (see below). - A license file with a list of options available for use. License files can be time limited to accommodate in-house trials (see below).()error (Please contact sales@frontline.com for the last two items)()underline Procedure- Obtain your dongle and license file. - Load the product from the CD-ROM or the FTP server into a dedicated directory. The installation script will prompt for the license file and will store it in the proper location. - After the system is operational, retrieve and install the full documentation set from the CD-ROM. Start by reading Doc.0101 (System Overview) and continue to other reading material according to the path recommended in that book. - Start Genesis by typing 'get' (which is set up during the installation).
