.SH DESCRIPTION
Gcomm is a virtual terminal program that allows a user to communicate
with a serial port.  If a phone number or remote system name is specified
on the command line, gcomm will open the serial port and dial the number.
(The -n option prevents this.)

Alternatively, gcomm may open an internet connection to a remote system
or a pipe to another program.

Gcomm also includes the capability to send or receive files via the
Xmodem, Ymodem or Zmodem protocols.

Gcomm does not contain its own terminal window.  Instead, it uses
the window from which it is invoked.  Gcomm should not be launched
into the background.  If you install gcomm as a menu item, the command
should look like e.g.:

Name of remote system to dial.  Name is searched for in $REMOTE,
$HOME/.remote and /etc/remote in that order.
