'Determined by windowmanager' will leave the window placement up to the window manager.'Active screen' places the window on the same screen as the GQviewmain window. 'Active monitor' does the same, but limits the fullscreen window size to the monitor containing the main window. Theremaining choices are dependent on the multiple monitorconfiguration.</P><P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Stay above other windows:</B>Enable this to have GQview ask the window manager to keep the fullscreen window above other windows. Note that the window manager mayignore the request. This option is not relevant when the full screenlocation is determined by the window manager.</P><P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Smooth image flip</B>: This optiondelays the image change in full screen until the next image isentirely decoded into memory, the result is a smoother transitionbetween images.</P><P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Disable screen saver</B>: Thisoption will execute <I>xscreensaver-command --deactivate</I> once perminute to avoid the screen saver from activating when GQview isdisplayed full screen.</P><P><BR><BR></P><P STYLE="font-style: normal; font-weight: medium"><U>Delete</U></P><P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in; font-style: normal"><B>Confirm filedelete</B>: Prompts for confirmation before deleting files.</P><P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in; font-style: normal"><B>Enable Deletekey</B>: Disable this to disassociate the delete file function fromthe Delete key. This option does not effect the [Control] + D keysequence. May be useful in combination with “confirm filedelete”, above, disabled so that accidentally hitting a singlekey will not result in deleted files.</P><P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in; font-style: normal"><B>Safe Delete</B>:Moves deleted files to a temporary folder, for easy retrieval ofdeleted files. Files in the temporary folder are retained until themaximum size is reached, at which point deleting additional fileswill result in the removal of the oldest files to reclaim the spaceneeded for the new files.</P><P STYLE="margin-left: 1.58in; font-style: normal"><I>Note:</I> Filesmoved to the Safe Delete folder are prefixed with a six digit numberin the format:</P><P STYLE="margin-left: 2.36in"><I>nnnnnn_FILENAME</I></P><P STYLE="margin-left: 1.58in; font-style: normal">This is used bythe delete feature to distinguish which files to remove first whenclearing space for new files. The digit counter increments with eachdeleted file.</P><P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in; font-style: normal"><B>Folder</B>: Thelocation of the folder used by the Safe Delete feature.</P><P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Maximum size</B>: The size to usefor the Safe Delete folder, in megabytes.</P><P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Clear</B> button: Removes all filescontained in the Safe Delete folder.</P><P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>View</B> button: Changes the GQviewmain window to display the contents of the Safe Delete folder.</P><P><BR><BR></P><P><U>Behavior</U></P><P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in; font-weight: medium"><B>Rectangularselection in icon view:</B> Enable this to change the selectionmethod used when selecting multiple items in an icon view.</P><P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Descend folders in tree view</B>:This will allow GQview to read sub folder content to determine if itshould display expander indicators in the folder tree view.</P><P STYLE="margin-left: 1.58in"><I>Note:</I> Disable this if GQviewwakes up auto mounted network shares, or takes too long to initiallydisplay the folder view.</P><P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>In place renaming</B>: Whenrenaming a single file, this will allow the rename entry to appeardirectly over the original filename.</P><P><BR><BR></P><P><U>Navigation</U></P><P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Progressive keyboard scrolling</B>:This will cause image panning speed to gradually accelerate whenholding down the keyboard arrows.</P><P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Mouse wheel scrolls image</B>: Thedefault is for the mouse wheel to change the image, and to scroll theimage when shift is used in combination with the wheel. Enabling thisswaps the behavior so that operating the wheel will scroll the image,and holding down shift will change the image.</P><P><BR><BR></P><P><U>Miscellaneous</U></P><P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in; font-weight: medium"><B>Store keywordsand comments local to source images:</B> When enabled, GQviewattempts to store metadata such as keywords closer to the sourceimage. The resulting location is the source image's folder, in a subfolder with the name "<B>.metadata"</B>. When the imagesource folder cannot be written, GQview falls back to saving themedata in "$HOME/.gqview/metadata".</P><P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Custom similarity threshold</B>:This setting is used by the compare method “similarity(custom)”, located in the Find Duplicates window.</P><P STYLE="margin-left: 0.79in"><B>Offscreen cache size</B>: GQviewonly renders the visible portion of an image. To reduce rendering thesame area frequently when panning an image, some memory is used toretain the recently rendered image data.
