When the receiver receives these packets, it sends acknowledgements for each of the correctly received packet. The packets are shown in red color and the acknowledgements in yellow color. The window size is set to four. If the sequence number is within the sender's window ,sender sends the packets. If an ACK is received and the packet's sequence number is equal to base of the sender window, the window moves forward. At receiver out of order packets are buffered until any missing packets are received. If a received packet has sequence no. equal to the base of the receiver's window, then this packet, and any previously buffered packets are delivered to the upper layer. The receive window is then moved forward by the number of packets delivered to the upper layer. The applet can be paused at any instant by clicking on the stop button and can be started again by clicking on the start button. Clicking on the reset button resets the applet. The complete operation of protocol can be seen in case of any pkt/ack loss. Any packet or acknowledgement can be selected from the drop-down menu and then dropped by clicking on the drop button. The speed of the pkts/ack traveling can be increased or decreased using speed up or speed down button.
