Also please make sure your firewall has been configured to allow tftp. </div></li></ul></li></ul><ul><li class="level1"><div class="li"> Q: Fail to build u-boot</div><ul><li class="level2"><div class="li"> A: In most of the cases, if you cannot successfully built u-boot from a uboot release, it is because the toolchain version does not match the uboot release.</div></li></ul></li></ul><ul><li class="level1"><div class="li"> Q: ERROR: ‘ethaddr’ not set</div><ul><li class="level2"><div class="li">A: For STAMP-BF537, if the ‘ethaddr’ environment variable is not set, u-boot will try to read ethernet address from parallel flash address 0x203f0000. The ethernet address will be stored at this address in factory, but it may be erased or changed. So you wil need to rewrite ethernet address. Please refer to <a href="bf537-stamp_board.html#setting_the_mac_address" class="wikilink1" title="bf537-stamp_board.html">setting_the_mac_address</a></div></li></ul></li></ul><ul><li class="level1"><div class="li"> Q: I am following the documents to build u-boot and program it to the parallel flash, then set BMODE to 0,1(ON, OFF), but I can’t see anything on the terminal after I hit the reset button.</div><ul><li class="level2"><div class="li">A: The default U-Boot expects to boot from FLASH, by having the processor jump to the start of flash, and executing instructions (Execute in place). In the Blackfin this is known as bypassing the Boot ROM, or executing from external 16-bit memory. On the BF533/2/1, this is BMODE 00, on the BF537/6/4, this is BMODE 000.<br/> Setting the BMODE to 01, will boot from the on-chip BootROM, which expects to load a file from the external 8/16-bit flash.
