In accordance with subclause 6.2.2.1 of the JTC 1 Directives (Third edition 1995) and Resolution 3 taken at the ninth SC 29 plenary meeting, 1997-03-24/26, Dijon, France (ref. <A HREF="29n2001c.htm">SC 29 N 2001</A>), the SC 29 Secretariat submitted the proposal of subdivision of the project JTC 1.29.13 to JTC 1 for endorsement (ref. <A HREF="29n2002c.htm">SC 29 N 2002</A>, JTC 1 N 4876). JTC 1 endorsed the subdivision (ref. <A HREF="29n2238c.htm">SC 29 N 2348</A>, JTC 1 N 5104).

<B>CD Registration and CD Consideration</B><BR>
In accordance with Resolution 1 taken at the ninth SC 29 plenary meeting, 1997-03-24/26, Dijon, France (ref. <A HREF="29n2001c.htm">SC 29 N 2001</A>), and Resolution 11 taken at the forty-first SC 29/WG 11 meeting, 1997-10-27/31, Fribourg, Switzerland (ref. <A HREF="29n2282c.htm">SC 29 N 2282</A>), and in anticipation of JTC 1's endorsement of subdivision of this project, the SC 29 Secretariat issued the combined CD registration and CD consideration ballot (ref. <A HREF="29n2296c.htm">SC 29 N 2296</A>). The ballot closed on 1998-03-07.<P>
The result of ballot on the CD registration is: Approval (24), Disapproval (0), Abstention (0), no vote (3) and the CD consideration: Approval (15), Disapproval (9), Abstention (0), no vote (3) (ref. <A HREF="29n2490c.htm">SC 29 N 2490</A>). The Disposition of Comments report on the CD is in <A HREF="29n2581c.htm">SC 29 N 2581</A>. All the negative ballots on the CD, with the exception of Germany, have been changed to positive.

In accordance with Resolution 1 taken at the tenth SC 29 plenary meeting, 1997-11-17/19, Sydney, Australia
(ref. <A HREF="29n2351c.htm">SC 29 N 2351</A>), and Resolution 9 taken at the forty-third SC 29/WG 11 meeting, 1998-03-16/20, Tokyo, Japan (ref. <A HREF="29n2502c.htm">SC 29 N 2502</A>), the SC 29 Secretariat has circulated the accompanying text to the SC 29 P-members for FCD ballot.
