If they are different, \fIvqdst\fR warns and exits.Similarly, the \fB\-t\fR option forces the \fIinput_signal\fR field in the input FEAfile and the \fIsignal_name\fR field in the input FEA_VQ file to beidentical. Finally, the \fB\-c\fR option forces the \fIfield\fR and \fIquant_field\fP(and if the input fileis a \fIFEA_ANA\fP(5-ESPS) file, the \fIfield_rep\fR fields)in the two input files to be identical..PPThe field to encode in the codebooks mustbe of type FLOAT. Note that \fIfeafunc\fP(1\-\s-1ESPS\s+1) can beusedto transform the data type of fields..PPIf .I infile1.feais set equal to "\-", standard input is used for the input FEA file. If.I outfile.dstis equal to "\-", standard output is used. .SH OPTIONS.TP.BI \-x " debug_level" " \fR[0]\fP"Valuesgreater than 0 cause messages to print to \fIstderr\fR..TP.BI \-P " params_file"The name of a parameter file may be specified here. The default name is\fIparams\fR..TP.BI \-d " distortion" \fR[MSE]\fPAt this time only one distortion method is supported: mean squareerror (MSE)..TP.BI \-f " field" Specify the field in \fIinput.fea\fR to encode..TP.BI \-n " rep_number \fR[\-1]\fP"Specify the repetition number for input files with identicalvalues in the \fIinput_source\fR and \fIinput_signal\fR fields..TP.B \-cIf this option is set,a difference in the \fIfield\fR or \fIfield_rep\fR fields in the two input files is a fatal error..TP.B \-sIf this option is set,a difference in the \fIsource_name\fR or \fIinput_source\fR field valuesin the twoinput files is a fatal error. .TP.B \-tIf this option is set,a difference in the \fIsignal_name\fR or \fIinput_signal\fR field valuesin the two input files is a fatal error..TP.B \-qThis option must be specified to append to an existing FEA_DST file.By using this option, the header information of the current input file is lost - \fIvqdst\fR simply appends records to the existing file. Noheader information is copied over..SH "ESPS PARAMETERS".PPThe strings values for \fIdistortion\fR and \fIfield\fR can be obtained fromthe parameter file. Remember that any command line valueover rides the parameter file value..PPThe values of parameters obtained from the parameter file are printedif the environment variable ESPS_VERBOSE is 3 or greater. The defaultvalue is 3..SH ESPS COMMON.PPIf only two files are specified on the command line,\fIvqdst\fR checks Common for a file name. If one exists,it uses it as the \fIinfile1.fea\fR..PPESPS Common processing may be disabled by setting the environment variableUSE_ESPS_COMMON to "off". The default ESPS Common file is.espscom in the user's home directory. This may be overidden by settingthe environment variable ESPSCOM to the desired path. User feedback ofCommon processing is determined by the environment variable ESPS_VERBOSE,with 0 causing no feedback and increasing levels causing increasinglydetailed feedback. If ESPS_VERBOSE is not defined, a default value of 3 isassumed..SH ESPS HEADERS.PPBoth \fIinfile1.fea\fR and \fIinfile2.cbk\fR are added to the output header as sources..PPSee FEA_DST(5\-ESPS) for a descriptionof the standard header items..SH FUTURE CHANGES.PPIf \fIvqdst\fR output is to be used for speaker verification, the input FEA file needs to have the followingtwo generic header items filled in: \fIinput_source\fR (character)and \fIinput_signal\fR (character). These values are copied by\fIvqdst\fRto the output FEA_DST(5\-ESPS) file, and the values are used by \fIthresh\fP and\fIspkver\fP.These two programs are not part of the standard distribution, but maybe made so at some time in the future..PPItakura Saito (IS), gain-normalized Itakura Saito (GNIS),and gain-optimized Itakura Saito (GOIS) will be added. The IS, GNIS, and GOIS distortion measures are validonly for fields that contain spectral parameters.See [1] for a description of the IS, GNIS, and GOIS distortionmeasures..SH WARNINGS.PP\fIVqdst\fR warns and exits if the input file types are notcorrect, the named \fIfield\fR is not in \fIinput1.fea\fR,or the number of elements in the input \fIfield\fR does notequal the number of elements in\fIinfile2.cbk\fR codebook records. If a field containing spectral information does notcontain a valid spectral type (see \fIspec_reps\fR tablein \fIanafea.h\fR for valid types)and either IS, GNIS, or GOIS is specified as the distortion measure,\fIvqdst\fR warns and exits..SH "SEE ALSO".PP.nfrefcof(1\-ESPS), FEA_DST(5\-ESPS), addclass(1\-ESPS), vq(1\-ESPS), vqdes(1\-ESPS), FEA_VQ(5\-ESPS).fi.SH "BUGS".PPNone known..SH REFERENCES[1] R.
