Consider use of \fIlp_syn\fR(1\-ESPS). While stillsupported, \fIlpcana\fR(1\-ESPS) and \fIlpcsynt\fR(1\-ESPS) should be considered obsolescent..PP.I Lpcsynttakes as input an ESPS FEA_ANA(5\-ESPS) file (\fIinput_fea\fR)containing analysis information, performs pitch-synchronous synthesis, and outputs the synthesized speech to an ESPS FEA_SD(5\-ESPS) file .I output_sd. The output file is written in short format. .PPIf "\-" is specified as the input file name, standard input is used;if "\-" is specified as the output file name, standard output is used..SH OPTIONSThe following options are supported:.TP.B \-xThis option is specified for printing debugging message in the standard error..TP.BI \-P " param_file"uses the parameter file .I param_filerather than the default which is.I params..TP.BI \-p " range"Selects a subrange of points to be synthesized, where the start and endpoints are defined with respect to the original SD file that is thesource of the input FEA_ANA file. The range is specified using the format .I start\-endor.IR start:endor.IR start:+nan .Either .I startor .I endmay be omitted, in which case the omitted parameter defaults respectivelyto the start or end of the input FEA_ANA file. .TP.BI \-r " range"\fBr\fP is a synonym for \fBp\fP..SH ESPS PARAMETERS.PPThe values of parameters obtained from the parameter file are printedif the environment variable ESPS_VERBOSE is 3 or greater. The defaultvalue is 3..PPThe following parameters are read from the params file:.sp.I "post_filt_num - float".IPA three element vector specifying the numerator of a pole-zeropost processing filter. If no values are specified in the parameter file, the vector [1., -1., 0] is used..sp.TP.I "post_filt_den - float".IPA three element vector specifying the denominator of a pole-zeropost processing filter. If no values are specified in the parameter file, the vector [1., -.875, 0.] is used..SH ESPS COMMON.PPESPS Common is not processed..SH ESPS HEADERS.PPThe following parameters are read from the header of the input FEA_ANA file: .I start, nan, nominal_frame_size, and src_sf..PP.ISyntwrites the following header items in the output FEA_SD file:\fIsynt_order\fP (int), \fIsynt_method\fP (coded),\fIsynt_interp\fP (coded),\fIsynt_pwr\fP (coded),\fIv_excit_method\fP (coded),and\fIuv_excit_method\fP (coded)..PPAlso,.I src_sfis copied from the input header and used as \fIrecord_freq\fP in the output FEA_SD file..PPIn addition, the generic header item \fIstart_time\fP (type DOUBLE)is written in the output file. The value written is computed by taking the \fIstart_time\fP value fromthe header of the input file (or zero, if such a header item doesn'texist) and adding to it the offset time (from thebeginning of the original sampled data file) of the first point writtenby \fIlpcsynt\fP (1\-\s-1ESPS\s+1)..SH COMMENTSThe synthesizer implementation is very simple. A singleimpulse is used as the excitation function for each pitch pulse inthe case of voiced speech. A gaussian white noise sequence is used as theexcitation function when the frame is unvoiced.Linear interpolation is performed (for each pulse) on thereflection coefficients, prior to synthesis..SH SEE ALSOlpcana (1\-ESPS), ESPS(5\-ESPS), FEA_ANA(5\-ESPS),.brFEA_SD(5\-ESPS)..SH "BUGS".PPNone known..SH "AUTHOR".PPS.
