.SH DESCRIPTION
.I Psps
prints header information and data from an ESPS file. If no options are given,
a message giving the type of data, what program created it, and what the
source files for that program were, is printed. This message is followed by
the data records from the file; by default, all the data records are printed.

The format of the output depends on the ESPS file type.    If the file
type is not known to this version of \fIpsps\fR it prints the data in a
general format.
.SH ESPS PARAMETERS

The parameter file is not used.
.SH OPTIONS
.PP
The following options are supported:

.B \-g
Print all ESPS file types in a generic format.
.TP
.B \-l
Print all the parameters in the header of the file, except for included
subheaders.

.B \-r
Print every parameter in every subheader.
.TP
.B \-n
Suppress printing of header information.
.TP
.BI \-o " start:end"
.TP
.BI \-o " start:+incr
Determines the range of data records to print.  In the first form, a
pair of unsigned integers gives the first and last points of the range.  
If 
.I start
is omitted, 1 is used.  If 
.I end
is omitted, the last point in the file is used.  The second form is
equivalent to the first with 
.I "end = start + incr".

.B \-x
Suppress printing of data records.

.B \-h
Prints the common part of all embedded headers in the file.
.TP
.BI \-t " tag"
Only print the data record with the corresponding tag.
A warning message is printed if this option is specified and the data
is not tagged.  This option may be specified as many times as
desired.

.B \-v
This option enables printing of feature file field definitions. Otherwise
feature file field definitions are not printed, even if the \fB\-l\fR
option is used.   Using this option also sets the \fB\-l\fR.
.TP
.BI \-f " field_name"
Print only the feature file field that matches the given field name.
A warning is printed on stderr if the requested field name does not
exist.  This option may be specified as often as desired.
.SH DIAGNOSTICS
An error message is printed if the specified file does not exist, or if
the file is not an ESPS file.
