<img height="113" src="newpic/ditu001.jpg" width="167" align="left" border="0"> </font>河源是一九八八年经国务院批准成立的地级市，辖源城区和东源、龙川、紫金、和平、连平等五县一区。地处粤东北，全市总面积1.58万平方公里，总人口305多万人。

<p> 河源市位于中国广东省东北部，东经114°30'-114°40'北纬23°10'-23°40',南距香港200公里，西南距广州198公里。属热带季风气候,年平均气温20℃-21℃,平均降雨量1881.8毫米,年平均相对湿度77%,年平均日照2051.1小时。

<p>
河源交通方便，通信先进，口岸设施齐全。距香港、距广州近200公里。京九铁路和广梅汕铁路在河源境内接轨，国道205线、105线和筹建中的河惠、河梅、粤赣三条高速公路均经过河源，东江航运可达广州黄埔港。拥有现代通信网络和一类口岸设施。</p>
<p>
河源土地肥沃，资源丰富。全市有耕地11万公顷，山地136万公顷，水流6.4万公顷。矿产资源储量大，且品种多，已探明的有40多个品种，其中铁、钨、锡、萤石、稀土等储量居广东首位。水能蕴藏量127万千瓦，华南最大的两座水电站━━新丰江水电站和枫树坝水电站位于市内，1998年发电量27.95亿千瓦时。全市森林覆盖率达71.7%，林木年生长量6.2万立方米。是广东重点林业基地之一。</p>
<p>
河源山青水秀，是座新兴的旅游城市，拥有广东文化名城━━佗城、孙中山入粤第一代祖居紫金孙屋排、岭南第一大湖━━万绿湖、“粤东丹霞山”“粤东小桂林”━━连平内莞山水、“地下龙宫”━━漳溪黄龙岩、新丰江国家森林公园等人文自然景观，年接待中外游客100万人次。河源的土特产有猕猴桃、香菇、火蒜、矿泉水饮料、竹凉席、牛肉干、柿饼、牛筋糕、春甜桔、盆景等等。</p>
