EV7向X86的移植，但得到了很大改进。美国IT界已经普遍认为，INTEL到2009年也无法达到AMD目前的水平（你在<A
href="http://it.sohu.com/7/1003/49/column214934944.shtml">Google</A>上搜索“INTEL
200”9就知道了）。而AMD的发展速度有加快的迹象，它很快将提高超传输链接的性能，增加内存控制器数量，向四核芯进发。而NEWISYS的HORUS芯片将使OPTERON能够组成32路ccNUMA。AMD的刀锋可以说是直逼IBM的大型机。这一点毫不奇怪，因为现在AMD的CTO实际上是原IBM的高手，在皓龙出世之前就跳出来创建了NEWISYS，专门开发OPTERON的配套产品。</P>
<P> 在低端，AMD的GEODE系列据说最终要做到一美元一块芯片。</P>
<P> MIPS前途何在呢？看看AMD的AU1200、AU1500就知道了，那么强大的功能，那么小的功耗，销售额可能不到1000万美元。在通用计算方面，本来还有SGI（MIPS技术公司原是SGI的一部分），后来SGI放弃了MIPS，转用INTEL的“安腾”（IA64），由于IA64没人要，SGI终于在昨天被纽约证券市场除名，估计已经活不了几天了。</P>
<P> 以前有一个叫LEXRA的公司，似乎与BLX公司很相似，也是做MIPS设计，也没有实现lwl, lwr,
swl,和swr四条烂指令来避免向MIPS技术公司交专利费，LEXRA设计了很多不错的软核，卖给了不少公司，但最后在与MIPS技术公司的法庭战斗中死掉了，究其根本原因还是因为MIPS市场太小。现在，MIPS技术公司本身也是奄奄一息。</P>
<P> BLX得到了政府的大力支持，我们当然希望“龙芯”能够成功，但是要成功，就必须面对现实、知己知彼，而不能回避X86巨大的发展前景。除非“龙芯”设计者们能够坐下来冷静地分析形势，清醒地看到与世界先进技术的差距，给自己一个正确的定位，否则“龙芯”将成为一个纯粹学习性的练兵项目，虽然本身也有很大意义，但将无法取得真正的成功。</P>
