Neal</A>,Dept. of Statistics and Dept. of Computer Science, University of Toronto<P>Version of 2001-11-18.<P>This collection of programs and modules, written in C, is intendedto support research and education concerning Low Density Parity Check(LDPC) codes. These codes were invented by Robert Gallager in theearly 1960's, and re-invented and shown to have very good performanceby David MacKay and myself in the mid-1990's. The decoding algorithmfor LDPC codes is related to that used for Turbo codes, and toprobabilistic inference methods used in other fields.
