Ensure that you have an OSDBA group defined in the <CODE>/etc/group</CODE> file on all nodes of the cluster.</TD></TR><TR CLASS="Formal" ALIGN="LEFT" VALIGN="TOP"><TD CLASS="Formal"><A NAME="63357"></A><P CLASS="TB">UNIX accounts</TD><TD CLASS="Formal"><A NAME="63359"></A><P CLASS="TB">A UNIX account that is dedicated to installing and running Oracle9<EM CLASS="Italic">i</EM> Real Application Clusters Guard is needed. The account must be a member of the SYSDBA group. Create the UNIX account on all nodes of the cluster. This guide assumes the account is called <CODE>oracle</CODE>.</TD></TR><TR CLASS="Formal" ALIGN="LEFT" VALIGN="TOP"><TD CLASS="Formal"><A NAME="64586"></A><P CLASS="TB">Login shell</TD><TD CLASS="Formal"><A NAME="64588"></A><P CLASS="TB">The Korn shell must be the default shell for the <CODE>oracle</CODE> and <CODE>root</CODE> account that runs Oracle9<EM CLASS="Italic">i</EM> Real Application Clusters Guard. The Korn shell is the only shell supported with this release of Oracle9<EM CLASS="Italic">i</EM> Real Application Clusters Guard. To use the Korn shell:<A NAME="65138"></A><P CLASS="TB"><CODE>/bin/ksh</CODE></TD></TR><TR CLASS="Formal" ALIGN="LEFT" VALIGN="TOP"><TD CLASS="Formal"><A NAME="63364"></A><P CLASS="TB">User equivalence</TD><TD CLASS="Formal"><A NAME="63368"></A><P CLASS="TB">The <CODE>oracle</CODE> account installing and running Oracle9<EM CLASS="Italic">i</EM> Real Application Clusters Guard must have remote shell (REMSH/RSH) access to all nodes in the cluster.
