<p>To install the Oracle9<em>i</em> products included with this release, your system must meet the minimum hardware requirements listed in the following table:

<p>A minimum of 256 MB is required to install Oracle9<em>i</em> Client.
</p>
<p><strong>HP only</strong>: If you are installing Oracle Real Application Clusters on a cluster with Hyper Messaging Protocol (HMP), each Oracle shadow process using HMP requires an additional 0.3 MB of memory. Allocate memory depending on the applications and the number of users on the systems.

<p>The Oracle Universal Installer requires up to 400 MB of space in the <code>/tmp</code> directory. If you do not have enough space in the <code>/tmp</code> directory, set the TMPDIR and TMP environment variables to specify a directory with sufficient space.
