Removing indexes from base schema attributes can adversely impact the operation of Oracle Internet Directory. Also see the server side limitations on indexed attributes in Sections <A HREF="README_OID.htm#565392">4.6.5</a> through <A HREF="README_OID.htm#565408">4.6.7</a>. You cannot perform this form of schema extension by using Oracle Directory Manager. Rather it can be done only by using command-line tools, and must never create schema inconsistencies--for example, an attribute that does not contain a required value. To avoid such inconsistencies, auxiliary object classes with only optional attributes are used exclusively for extending existing entries.</P><A NAME="565645"></A><!--TOC=h4-"565645"--><H5 CLASS="H4"><FONT FACE="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" COLOR="#330099">5.2.3.2  Moving the Scroll Bar on The Help Window Sometimes Crashes the Oracle Directory Manager Session (Bug 2162732)</FONT></H5><!--/TOC=h4--><A NAME="565646"></A><P CLASS="BP">Oracle Directory Manager online help scrolling can cause the crash of the Java Virtual Machine in a simplified Chinese environment. This problem is seen only on some computers. If you encounter this problem, then replace the contents of the Chinese help to English in the jar file.
