You will then select the Oracle Internet Directory 9.2.0.1.0 Installation type to proceed. Users migrating from previous versions of Oracle Internet Directory (2.x or 3.x, which shipped both standalone and with previous releases of Oracle products) should refer to the document entitled, "Migrating from Oracle9iAS Release 1 (1.0.2.2.x) to Release 2 (9.0.2)". </P><A NAME="563198"></A><!--TOC=h2-"563198"--><H3 CLASS="H2"><FONT FACE="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" COLOR="#330099">2.1&#32; Installer-Based Upgrade </FONT></H3><!--/TOC=h2--><A NAME="563199"></A><P CLASS="BP"> Upgrade is supported from Oracle Internet Directory versions 2.1.1.x and 3.0.1. </P><A NAME="563201"></A><!--TOC=h2-"563201"--><H3 CLASS="H2"><FONT FACE="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" COLOR="#330099">2.2&#32; Post-install/Post-Upgrade step </FONT></H3><!--/TOC=h2--><A NAME="563202"></A><P CLASS="BP">At the end of a new installation it is recommended that the $ORACLE_HOME/ldap/admin/oidstats.sh must be executed. Otherwise, the Oracle Internet Directory server performance might be affected. The usage is as follows: </P>    <PRE CLASS="CE"><A NAME="563204"></A>$ORACLE_HOME/ldap/admin/oidstats.sh -connect &lt;Database connect string&gt; -all -pct &lt;Percent of Data to sample e.g. 100&gt;<A NAME="564711"></A></PRE>    <A NAME="563206"></A><P CLASS="BP">In case of upgrade, if you observe deterioration in the server performance, then you need to run the oidstats.sh tool as mentioned above. Please note, the amount of time this script takes to complete its task is dependent on the directory size. For example, it might take a few hours, for a directory with 100,000 entries. </P><A NAME="563209"></A><!--TOC=h2-"563209"--><H3 CLASS="H2"><FONT FACE="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" COLOR="#330099">2.3&#32; Special Step in Case Of Multi-Node Upgrade </FONT></H3><!--/TOC=h2--><A NAME="563210"></A><P CLASS="BP">During multi-node upgrade, the tnsnames.ora file is replaced and the listener entries for the Oracle Internet Directory databases on the other nodes in the replication network is lost. So, these listener entries need to be restored manually once again to the tnsnames.ora.
