size=3> USB接口技术标准起初是由Intel、康柏、IBM、微软等七家电脑公司共同于1995年制定的，当时称USB
0.9标准，现在发展到USB1.1，即将推出的最新版本USB 2.0标准。目前一般是采用USB1.1标准。
在USB刚推出时，并没有立即受到重用，PC机中USB接口只是摆设而已，事实上，1997年才有真正符合标准的USB设备出现，随着支持USB标准的Windows98的出现和USB设备数量的快速增加，USB才在近年逐渐流行起来。</FONT></DIV></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

size=3> 计算机与外部设备(简称外设)的连接需要通过某种接口来完成，大家所熟悉的接口有串行通讯(简称串口)口如COM1/COM2等，并行接口(简称并口，也可称打印接口)如LPT1，串行总线接口如PS2等，但这些接口的速度都较慢，新型的USB（Universal
Serial
