**********************************************************************

This module reads in an XML file. It creates a node tree with complete
attribute lists, which can then be traversed to get information from
the file data. Optionally it can write a node tree back out to disk
as a file, although the program this is a part of does it the easy way
and just formats the output data itself.

Note that the standard doc tags are NOT supported herein, and if they
are present on an input file they will be thrown out.

This was inspired by a simple program I found on the net, but this
version is much more robust and has support for most of the basics
that are needed when using XML as a file format.
