  The point of this is handling the situation in which the user manually
  tries to shutdown the program by closing its graphics window.  We can't
  do much about it if the text-mode window is closed manually, but in the
  case of the graphics window we can allow the programmer to decide whether
  or not to terminate, and whatever graceful shutdown measures are needed.
  
  We do all this by means of a callback function, TurboX, which is called
  when the program has the urge to shutdown.  This file contains the
  default version of TurboX, but the programmer can replaced it with 
  his/her own version.
  
  ... but, it works imperfectly at best.  X doesn't seem to generate the
  same messages on all systems, and there are other difficulties.  *Sigh!*
