of=20
                  Windows 95/98, a number of companies thought they =
could write=20
                  software which would prevent or warn of Windows =
crashes, which=20
                  would fix problems in tens of thousands of programs =
(Gee!!)=20
                  thanks to constantly updated databases, which would =
provide=20
                  safe installation and un-installation of software, and =
with=20
                  some of them, which would provide the <I>"System =

                  function which is now part of Windows since Windows =
Millennium=20

products=20
                  turned out to cause crashes themselves&nbsp;!!!&nbsp; =
Right=20
                  from day one we never believed in such programs, if =
only=20
                  because it is an impossible feat to keep track of all =
the=20
                  software produced around the world, of their bugs, of =
their=20
                  newest bugs or corrections in their latest versions,=20
                  etc...&nbsp; Like most other such programs, First Aid =
98 and=20
                  the company that made it, Cybermedia, eventually =
disappeared=20
                  (bought by McAfee/Network Associates in the case of=20
                  =
Cybermedia).<BR><U><BR></U><B>Recommendation&nbsp;:</B>=20
                  <BR>Given that First Aid 98 has been a defunct product =
for=20
                  some time, running it in 2002 and beyond without the =
benefit=20
                  of program updates that take into account nowadays =
software,=20
                  is courting trouble.&nbsp; You certainly should not =
run it on=20
                  anything other than Windows 95/98.&nbsp; Our view is =
that if=20
                  you are still running First Aid you should de-install=20
                  it.&nbsp; <B>Note, however, that because of the way in =
which=20
                  First Aid interacts with Windows, the de-installation =
of First=20
                  Aid may actually cause you instability problems later =
(catch=20
                  22!!).&nbsp; So, if your PC is currently relatively =
stable, do=20
