This directory contains the source code for brFCM, a version of the 
Fuzzy C-Means clustering algorithm that can significantly improve the
time required for FCM clustering, with little loss of precision.

Timing performance experiments for a group of FCM variants.
The variants include:

1) Literal FCM - a literal implementation of FCM with no formula
   enhancements.
2) FCM - a version of FCM using formula enhancements to speed processing.
3) brfcm - bit reduction, two-stage FCM.
  - This implementation has a switch to turn hashing on or off.

To compile
1) There is a makefile that will build all three programs (fcm,lfcm,brfcm).
2) You need to have gcc installed. See http://www.gnu.org for details 
   on obtaining it.
3) For reading in TIFF images (ATR images) you will need to have
   the libtiff library installed. See http://www.libtiff.org for details.
