To add them to the list of <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Selected Server(s)</font> click on the<img class="figure" border="0" alt="" src="images/addserverbutton.gif">button. Click on the<img class="figure" border="0" alt="" src="images/removeserverbutton.gif">button to remove them. Use the <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Up</font> and <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Down </font>buttons to prioritize the selected servers. Tornado&nbsp;2.2 sends its request for a license to the server at the top of the list first.</p><dd><p class="Indent"><a name="84941"></a>To see more information about an individual server and the licenses available on it, click to highlight the server; then click the <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Details</font> button while the server name is highlighted.</p></dl><dl class="margin"><dd><div class="Item2"><a name="88762"></a>No Servers Available </div><dl class="margin"><dd><div class="Follow2"><a name="88786"></a>If no entries appear under <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Available Server(s)</font>, this means <b class="symbol_UC">SETUP</b> cannot locate any license servers. Possible reasons for this and their solutions are:</div><br></dl></dl><dl class="margin"><dd><p class="listspace"><ul class="Dash2" type="circle"><li><a name="88787"></a>No license server is installed on an accessible host in your network; contact your system administrator to have one installed.</li></ul></p><dd><p class="listspace"><ul class="Dash2" type="circle"><li><a name="88797"></a>The license server is installed on an accessible host but is not active; contact your system administrator to activate it.</li></ul></p><dd><p class="listspace"><ul class="Dash2" type="circle"><li><a name="88802"></a>The host is not connected to the network; troubleshoot the connection. If the machine is normally not connected to the network (for example, a laptop), consider assigning a node-locked license. See <a href="c-install.html#84960"><i class="title">Obtaining a Node-Locked License</i></a>.</li></ul></p></dl><dl class="margin"><dd><p class="Indent"><a name="88788"></a>Click <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Next</font> to continue.</p></dl><dd><ol class="List"><li value="3."><a name="88716"></a>Confirm License Servers </li></ol><dl class="margin"><dd><p class="Indent"><a name="84944"></a>In the <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">License Management Registration</font> dialog you can review your choice of license servers. Click <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Next</font> to accept the choice, or <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Back</font> to modify it. When you click <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Next</font>, <b class="symbol_UC">SETUP</b> displays the <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Finish</font> dialog.</p><dd><p class="Indent"><a name="84945"></a><b class="symbol_UC">SETUP</b> updates the registry with the license information. There are no further steps to complete on Windows. On UNIX, you will need to complete the steps described in <a href="c-install.html#95822"><i class="title">4.Complete Installation</i></a>. Congratulations! You have configured Tornado&nbsp;2.2 to obtain a floating license, and it is now ready to run.</p></dl></dl></dl><font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" class="sans"><h4 class="H4"><i><a name="84960"></a>Obtaining a Node-Locked License</i></h4></font><dl class="margin"><dl class="margin"><dd><p class="Body"><a name="84961"></a>A node-locked license is a license reserved exclusively for a single Tornado&nbsp;2.2 installation. The license is contained in a file stored locally during setup and Tornado&nbsp;2.2 uses it exclusively thereafter. This section describes the steps to follow to reserve a node-locked license and to obtain the license file.</p></dl></dl><dl class="margin"><dd><font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans"><h5 class="HU"><i><a name="84964"></a>Choose a Method for Requesting the License File</i></h5></font><dl class="margin"><dd><p class="Body"><a name="84968"></a>In the <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">License Management Installation Options</font> dialog, select a method for <b class="symbol_UC">SETUP</b> to contact Wind River and request the license file.</p></dl><dl class="margin"><dd><div class="Item"><a name="84969"></a><font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Automatic License Installation</font></div><dl class="margin"><dd><div class="Follow"><a name="84970"></a>Recommended because it is the quickest and easiest method, and when you exit the <b class="symbol_UC">SETUP</b> program the license file is installed. This method requires an active Internet connection. See <a href="c-install.html#84993"><i class="title">Automatic License Installation</i></a>, if you choose this method.</div><br></dl><dd><div class="Item"><a name="84974"></a><font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Manual License Installation </font></div><dl class="margin"><dd><div class="Follow"><a name="84975"></a>Choose one of the manual options (e-mail, phone, or fax) if the host is not connected to the Internet, or if you are located behind a firewall or a proxy server that prevents automatic installation from completing. When you request a license file using one of these methods, the file is sent to you through e-mail and you must install it manually. Click <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Next</font> and see <a href="c-install.html#86966"><i class="title">3.Select Node-Locked Licenses to Configure or Reload</i></a> to continue.</div><br></dl></dl><dl class="margin"><dd><p class="Body"><a name="97634"></a>If the host has no Internet access and cannot send e-mail, a final option for obtaining a license file is to visit the Wind River Web site using another computer that does have network access. Visit <b><a href="http://www.windriver.com/ali" class="url">http://www.windriver.com/ali</a></b> and follow the instructions there. Once you have the file, copy it to a diskette and transfer it to the install host, as described in <a href="c-install.html#85107"><i class="title">3.Install the WRSLicense.lic License File Manually</i></a>.</p></dl><dd><font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans"><h5 class="HU"><i><a name="84993"></a>Automatic License Installation</i></h5></font><dl class="margin"><dd><p class="Body"><a name="84994"></a>This section describes the steps to follow when requesting a node-locked license using the <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Automatic License Installation</font> option.</p></dl><dl class="margin"><dd><ol class="List"><li value="1."><a name="84996"></a>Query the License Database </li></ol><dl class="margin"><dd><p class="Indent"><a name="84997"></a>In order to obtain the license file, <b class="symbol_UC">SETUP</b> automatically retrieves information from Wind River about the licenses you have purchased. In the <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Database Query Permission</font> dialog, you give permission for <b class="symbol_UC">SETUP</b> to contact Wind River for this purpose. Your computer must have an active connection to the Internet to complete this step.</p></dl></dl><dl class="margin"><dd><div class="Item"><a name="101693"></a><font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Use Disk Serial Number for host ID</font> </div><dl class="margin"><dd><div class="Follow"><a name="101694"></a>Select this option if you are installing a Tornado product on a laptop with multiple NIC cards. Click the <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Details</font> button for more information.</div><br></dl><dd><div class="Item"><a name="85001"></a><font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Yes, contact Wind River web site</font> </div><dl class="margin"><dd><div class="Follow"><a name="94870"></a>Select this option to retrieve the information automatically. Before you click <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Next</font>, review the information that will be transferred. <b class="symbol_UC">SETUP</b> transfers only the information necessary to configure a license, and no other data from your computer. </div><br><dd><div class="Follow"><a name="94892"></a>You may wish to use your disk serial number as your host ID instead of using your MAC address (the default). This option is recommended if you have a laptop with multiple NIC cards and you switch between the cards. For more information, see <b><a href="http://www.windriver.com/corporate/support/license.html" class="url">http://www.windriver.com/corporate/support/license.html</a></b>. Click <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Next</font> to continue.</div><br></dl><dd><div class="Item"><a name="86900"></a><font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">No, do not contact the Wind River Web Site</font> </div><dl class="margin"><dd><div class="Follow"><a name="94871"></a>If you select this option, <b class="symbol_UC">SETUP</b> displays instructions for manually installing a license file (see <a href="c-install.html#85331"><i class="title">3.Install the WRSLicense.lic File Manually</i></a>). If you wish, you can return to the previous dialog, where you can choose one of the manual methods of requesting the license file instead. See <a href="c-install.html#84964"><i class="title">Choose a Method for Requesting the License File</i></a>.</div><br></dl></dl><dl class="margin"><dd><ol class="List"><li value="2."><a name="86916"></a>Provide Contact Information/User Authorization </li></ol><dl class="margin"><dd><p class="Indent"><a name="85025"></a>Choosing <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Yes</font> from the dialog above opens the<font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans"> Contact Information/User Authorization</font> dialog. Enter contact information for the person who coordinates license configuration and management at your site. <b class="symbol_UC">SETUP</b> includes this information in the request for a license file. </p></dl></dl><dl class="margin"><dd><div class="Item"><a name="85026"></a><font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Authorization Code</font></div><dl class="margin"><dd><div class="Follow"><a name="85027"></a>Your purchase agreement for Tornado&nbsp;2.2 may have included a request for an authorization code, used to restrict access to licenses. If so, this dialog is labeled <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">User Authorization</font> and it includes a field for the code. You can find the code on the Installation Keys sheet. You must enter the code before you can request or reserve any licenses.</div><br></dl><dl class="margin"><dd><p class="Indent"><a name="86954"></a>Click <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Next</font> to continue.</p></dl></dl><dl class="margin"><dd><ol class="List"><li value="3."><a name="86966"></a>Select Node-Locked Licenses to Configure or Reload </li></ol><dl class="margin"><dd><p class="Indent"><a name="85044"></a>If you are requesting new licenses, the <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Node Locked License Configuration</font> dialog displays the number of licenses still available out of the total purchased. Select the licenses you want to reserve by checking the boxes next to the product name. Each node-locked license you reserve in this dialog reduces the number of licenses available for other Tornado&nbsp;2.2 installations.</p><dd><p class="Indent"><a name="85048"></a>If you are reloading a license that was previously assigned to this host, the<font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans"> Reload Existing License</font> dialog appears instead. This dialog displays information about the license(s) to be restored. You can review this information but you cannot alter it.</p><dd><p class="Indent"><a name="85049"></a>When you have selected new licenses to reserve, or reviewed the licenses to be restored, click <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Next</font> to continue and see <a href="c-install.html#89121"><i class="title">4.Review License Management Summary</i></a>.</p></dl></dl><dd><font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans"><h5 class="HU"><i><a name="85068"></a>Manual License Installation</i></h5></font><dl class="margin"><dd><p class="Body"><a name="93762"></a>This section describes the steps to follow when requesting a node-locked license using one of the manual methods. </p></dl><dl class="margin"><dd><ol class="List"><li value="1."><a name="93764"></a>Select Products to License </li></ol><dl class="margin"><dd><p class="Indent"><a name="93765"></a>The <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Email License Configuration</font> dialog or the<font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans"> Phone/Fax License Configuration</font> dialog appears, depending on the manual method you have chosen. The following image shows the <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Phone/Fax</font> dialog, but the contents of the two dialogs are the same for both methods. The dialog displays the products you have installed, and for which you can request a node-locked license. Select the licenses you want to reserve by checking the appropriate boxes next to the product names.</p><dd><p class="Indent"><a name="85085"></a>Click <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Next</font> to continue.</p></dl><dd><ol class="List"><li value="2."><a name="93779"></a>Request the License </li></ol><dl class="margin"><dd><p class="Indent"><a name="93780"></a>Next, you must provide information gathered by <b class="symbol_UC">SETUP</b> to Wind River. After Wind River has the information, you will receive the license file through e-mail.</p></dl></dl><dl class="margin"><dd><p class="listspace"><ul class="Bullet" type="disc"><li><a name="85088"></a>Request the License File by E-mail</li></ul></p><dl class="margin"><dd><p class="Indent"><a name="85089"></a>To use this method, the host must have network access to a mail server.</p></dl><dl class="margin"><dd><ol class="List2"><li value="1" type="a"><a name="85090"></a><b class="symbol_UC">SETUP</b> inserts all the necessary information into an e-mail message that you can preview in the <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Email License</font> dialog. When you have viewed the message, click <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Next</font> to continue.</li></ol><dd><ol class="List2"><li value="2" type="a"><a name="85091"></a>In the <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Mail Confirmation</font> dialog, enter the e-mail address where you want the license file to be sent. Select a mail protocol and enter the name of the mail server to use.</li></ol><dd><ol class="List2"><li value="3" type="a"><a name="85092"></a>Click <font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans">Send </font>in the<font face="Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1" class="sans"> Mail Confirmation</font> dialog.
