TAPI 2 Wave Driver Sample
=========================

This sample demonstrates how to use the capabilities of the IP Office Wave Driver using TAPI 2.

This sample can be used with the TAPI 2 driver configured for either single user or third party modes.  In single user mode, the configured user must be a wave user, i.e. "TAPI:...". In third party mode, the top edit box in the sample application allows the user to enter the extension number of the wave user that is to be controlled. Press "Select Line" button to effect the change.

All of the wave driver capabilities require a call to be connected to the wave driver, so the sample application provides the basic call handling buttons to make a call, answer a call and hang up.  This allows the sample to be used for both incoming and outgoing calls.

The wave driver will always be one of the parties on a call.  The other party can be an internal extension, or an external party (via a trunk line).

lineGenerateTone
================
This will play a short beep to the other party on the call.

lineMonitorTone
===============
This will pop up a message box when 3 seconds of silence are detected on a call. Note that if you are testing in a noisy environment you may need to use the mute button on your phone to provide a period of silence.

lineGenerateDigits
==================
This will play an arbitary set of DTMF digits to the other party on the call.  If the other party is a H323 endpoint then the digits will be sent Out Of Band.  Note that some H323 endpoints do not support OOB DTMF (including Avaya 46xx phones).

lineMonitorDigits (Start monitoring digits)
=================
This will pop up a message box indicating each DTMF digit that is detected as it is detected.

Send WAV File
=============
This shows how to play a WAV file to the other party on the call via the wave driver.  Specify the WAV file by entering the full path name or by browsing using the "..." button.  You can stop the playing using the Stop button.

Record
======
This shows how to record the audio received by the wave driver to a WAV file.  The application automatically generates a temporary file name when you press the Record button.  Press the Stop button to stop recording.

Note that the application does not allow you to play a WAV file on the same call that it was recorded on.

Tones
=====
This plays the DTMF tones in the associated edit box by passing the wave data for the tones to the wave driver rather than using lineGenerateDigits.

Clear
=====
This clears the trace window.

Exit
====
This closes the application.



Troubleshooting
===============
Note that when the application starts up it often reports an error.  This is normal and will not prevent the application from working as long as the error message is followed by the extension number of the chosen wave user, details of its capabilities, the Line ID, the Wave Out ID and Wave In ID.

If the Wave Out ID and Wave In ID are shown as -1 then you should reboot the PC.  Sometimes reconfiguring the TAPI driver will break the linkage between the TAPI driver and the wave driver making a reboot necessary.
