This example demonstrates how to read lines from a CharSequence. The lines can be terminated with any of the legal line termination character sequences: \r, \r\n, or \n. 
    CharSequence inputStr = "a\rb"; // Mac
    inputStr = "a\r\nb";            // Windows
    inputStr = "a\nb";              // Unix
    
    // Compile the pattern
    String patternStr = "^(.*)$";
    Pattern pattern = Pattern.compile(patternStr, Pattern.MULTILINE);
