<strong>Definition:</strong>
An algorithm for computing a <a href="minspantree.html" tppabs="http://hissa.nist.gov/dads/HTML/minspantree.html"><em>minimum spanning tree</em></a>.  It builds upon a single partial minimum spanning tree, at each step adding an <a href="edge.html" tppabs="http://hissa.nist.gov/dads/HTML/edge.html"><em>edge</em></a> connecting the <a href="vertex.html" tppabs="http://hissa.nist.gov/dads/HTML/vertex.html"><em>vertex</em></a> nearest to but not already in the current partial minimum spanning tree.
