<strong>Definition:</strong>
Given a sequence of matrices such that any <a href="matrix.html" tppabs="http://hissa.nist.gov/dads/HTML/matrix.html"><em>matrix</em></a> may be multiplied by the result of multiplying all the matrices before it, finding the best parenthesizing such that the result is obtained with the minimum number of arithmetic operations. Usually <a href="dynamicprog.html" tppabs="http://hissa.nist.gov/dads/HTML/dynamicprog.html"><em>dynamic programming</em></a> yields the best parenthesizing.
