The ratio  <img src="rho2-1.gif" tppabs="http://hissa.nist.gov/dads/HTML/Images/rho2.gif"   border=0 height=14 width=6  alt="rho" align=middle> is the <a href="performancrt.html" tppabs="http://hissa.nist.gov/dads/HTML/performancrt.html"><em>performance ratio</em></a> or <a href="relative.html" tppabs="http://hissa.nist.gov/dads/HTML/relative.html"><em>relative performance guarantee</em></a> of the algorithm.
