<strong>Definition:</strong>
Piecewise linear order-preserving (PLOP) hashing is a <a href="spatialacc.html" tppabs="http://hissa.nist.gov/dads/HTML/spatialacc.html"><em>spatial access method</em></a> which splits space into a nonperiodic grid.  Each spatial dimension is divided by nodes of a <a href="binarytree.html" tppabs="http://hissa.nist.gov/dads/HTML/binarytree.html"><em>binary tree</em></a>.  Object are stored in the grid cell of their <a href="centroid.html" tppabs="http://hissa.nist.gov/dads/HTML/centroid.html"><em>centroid</em></a>.
