A <a href="heap.html" tppabs="http://hissa.nist.gov/dads/HTML/heap.html"><em>heap</em></a> made of a <a href="forest.html" tppabs="http://hissa.nist.gov/dads/HTML/forest.html"><em>forest</em></a> of <a href="tree.html" tppabs="http://hissa.nist.gov/dads/HTML/tree.html"><em>trees</em></a>.  The <a href="amortizdcost.html" tppabs="http://hissa.nist.gov/dads/HTML/amortizdcost.html"><em>amortized cost</em></a> of the operations create, insert a value, decrease a value, find minimum, and merge or join (<a href="meld.html" tppabs="http://hissa.nist.gov/dads/HTML/meld.html"><em>meld</em></a>) two heaps, is a constant <a href="theta.html" tppabs="http://hissa.nist.gov/dads/HTML/theta.html"><em> <img src="Theta-1.gif" tppabs="http://hissa.nist.gov/dads/HTML/Images/Theta.gif"  border=0 height=10 width=8  alt="Capital Theta">(1)</em></a>.  The delete operation takes <a href="bigOnotation.html" tppabs="http://hissa.nist.gov/dads/HTML/bigOnotation.html"><em>O( log n)</em></a>.
