Supported Linux versions
------------------------
This kernel module is developped and tested on the following platforms:

- RedHat8.0, bi-athlon SMP, with
Linux version 2.4.18-14smp ([e-mail]) (gcc version 3.2 20020903 (Red Hat Linux 8.0 3.2-7)) #1 SMP Wed Sep 4 11:55:37 EDT 2002
and
Linux version 2.4.20-pre11 ([e-mail]) (gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (release)) #2 SMP Tue Nov 19 15:40:18 CET 2002

- RedHat7.3, single processor,
Linux version 2.4.18-3 ([e-mail]) (gcc version 2.96 20000731 (Red Hat Linux 7.3 2.96-110)) #1 Thu Apr 18 07:31:07 EDT 2002

___ compile and run properly without a change or with very minor changes. ___

[RUA versions <=77 did not allow to mix gcc versions within the
different kernel module binary objects. There used to be a warning
about this]
Starting from RUA version >=78, this limitation has disappeared and
the only constraint is that the file kernelcalls.c has to be compiled
with the same compiler as the kernel you plan to run insmod on (this
is _always_ the case on all distributions).

To compile for a specific kernel found in /this/directory/linux-my-version, run:
$ REALMAGICHWL_KI="-I/this/directory/linux-my-version/include" make

The kernel may be compiled with some optional features by setting the environment:
$ REALMAGICHWL_FEATURES="..." make
