<H1>Debian 参考手册 <BR>第 1 章 - 序言 </H1>

<P>本书《<CODE><A href="http://qref.sourceforge.net/">Debian 
参考手册</A></CODE>》的目的是对整个 Debian 
系统作一个全面的介绍，提供一本<STRONG>“安装之后的”用户使用手册</STRONG>。本手册的读者应该愿意阅读 shell 
脚本（scripts）。我也假定读者在阅读之前已经具备了类 Unix 系统的基本操作技能。 
<P>我决定<STRONG>不</STRONG>在本书中解释所有的细节，因为你可以在 <STRONG>manual 
页</STRONG>，<STRONG>info 页</STRONG>，或 <STRONG>HOWTO 
文档</STRONG>中获得这些信息。我希望能给读者提供实用的信息，而非全面的解释。因此我会给在正文中出<STRONG>实际的命令序列</STRONG>，或是在 
<CODE><A

<P>在2002年3月时，这三个发行版对应为<SAMP>potato</SAMP>（产品化品质），<SAMP>woody</SAMP>（beta-test，非常稳定即将发布），和<SAMP>sid</SAMP>（alpha-test）。到2002年8月，也就是<SAMP>woody</SAMP>刚刚发布，三个发行版对应为<SAMP>woody</SAMP>（产品化品质），<SAMP>sarge</SAMP>（beta-test，有时运行不够稳定），和<SAMP>sid</SAMP>（总处于alpha-test）。如果<SAMP>unstable</SAMP>发行版中的软件包不再出现Release
