下载potato的光盘,解开到一个debian的目录.重新启动到dos方式,转到/debian/install,执行boot. <br>
1.开始都一样,设定键盘,分区. <br>
2.然后开始找驱动,选择硬盘,它会自己搜索的. <br>
3.内核配置,主要是选择好网卡. <br>
4.完了之后是装基本系统,也是选择硬盘方式,让它自己搜索. <br>
5.最后会提示做启动盘,然后重新启动. <br>
6.重启后会设置root密码,最后出来安装系统的选项.选advanced <br>
然后再取消或者ctrl+c,之后login就出来了. <br>
7.login之后,先 <br>
vi /etc/apt/sources.list <br>
加入 <br>
deb ftp://ftp.linuxforum.net/debian sid main contrib non-free <br>
deb ftp://ftp.linuxforum.net/debian-non-US sid/non-US main contrib non-free <br>

这是大陆每天更新的mirror,我用的是japan的一个. <br>
注意,vi不是常用的vim,而是nvi,不太习惯. <br>
如果是woody,把上面的sid改成woody. <br>
8.执行 <br>
apt-get update <br>
apt-get dist-upgrade <br>
问是不是安装,enter确认. <br>
这样一来,你的系统就已经从potato升级到了sid,也就是说从stable变成了unstable <br>
9.运行 dselect <br>
光标在 Update上 按 enter <br>
完了再 Select,什么都不用改,直接enter返回到前选项单里,因为它已经预订了基本需要的东西. <br>
Install, 是否安装 enter,等下完后开始配置,会问你问题. <br>
完成后回问是否删除下载的.deb文件,随你便,默认删除. <br>

10.现在的内核还是2.2.19,再升级一下. <br>
apt-get install kernel-source-2.4.13 <br>
然后进入/usr/src,解开源码包, <br>
cd /kernel-source-2.4.13 <br>
make menuconfig <br>
make dep <br>
make bzImage <br>
make modules <br>
make modules_install <br>
在make menuconfig的时候如果报错说ncursor没有,那就要先安装这个库. <br>
cp System.map /boot/System.map-2.4.13 <br>
cp cp arch/i386/boot/bzImage /boot/vmlinuz-2.4.13 <br>
ln -s /vmlinuz.new /boot/vmlinuz-2.4.13 <br>
vi /etc/lilo.conf <br>
把新内核加进去, <br>
image=/vmlinux.new <br>
label=Linux-2.4.13 <br>
readonly <br>
再去掉这几行的注释 <br>
message=/boot/bootmess.txt <br>
prompt <br>
timeout=100 <br>
我还改了vga=791来启动framebuffer,这样一来就可以用zhcon了. <br>
在运行lilo之前要先建立/boot/bootmess.txt这个文件,随便写什么,这是启动后Lilo显示的. <br>
11.重新启动,如果你改了vga显示,那应该看到左上有企鹅标志.如果没有显示输出,但硬盘灯在 <br>
闪,说明模式不对,只好软盘启动改回vga=normal,或者去查一下那种模式合适,这里有一个 <br>

12.假设现在你已经用新内核起来了,现在的机器上没有X-Windows. <br>
简单一点执行tasksel,选择想要的部件,安装,应该可以,不过我没有这么做. <br>
所以下面都是的做法仅供参考 <br>
13.先装zhcon可以看中文,hehe <br>
apt-get install zhcon <br>
14.由于debian默认没有vim,所以 <br>
apt-get install vim <br>
然后再做两个连接 <br>
rm /etc/alternatives/vi <br>
ln -s /etc/alternatives/vi /usr/bin/vim <br>
rm /etc/alternatives/vi.1.gz <br>
ln -s /etc/alternatives/vi.1.gz /usr/share/man/man1/vim.1.gz <br>
这样一来用vi就可以用vim了. <br>
15.装 X 接下来.如果想装KDE的话 <br>
apt-get install kde <br>
就应该会装好整个XWindows. <br>
我比较繁琐, <br>
apt-get install xfree86-common <br>
apt-get install xserver-common <br>
apt-get install xserver-xfree86 <br>
其实它们是互相关连的安装一个就会把其他都装上. <br>
完了之后,编辑/etc/X11/XF86Config-4 <br>
在"Device"里改"Driver"为"vesa",改成用vesa驱动.因为nvidia的驱动原来经常搞死机器. <br>
startx <br>
这时候应该看到有窗口出来了,默认是启动一个xterm别的什么都没有. <br>
16.装喜欢的Windows Manager,我装了Icewm和xfce <br>
apt-get install icewm <br>
apt-get install xfce <br>
17.后来想装gnome启动后警告说不是gnome的窗口管理器,运行别的程序也都是没有标题栏 <br>
很难看.后来装了sawfish-gnome,还是警告,但是有了标题栏什么的,不舒服,删了. <br>
18.安装kde过程简单 <br>
apt-get install kde <br>
就把整个kde包括应用装上,需要130M. <br>
19.关于中文化. <br>
这个我偷了懒,用tasksel选择Simplified Chinese的支持,就把locale,font,输入法什么的都装了. <br>
X的汉化没有什么不同,simsun的字体也是一样可以加入.不过debian有工具 <br>
msttcorefonts,ttf-commercial可以做这个,没用过. <br>

20.其他的问题我遇到的就是USB鼠标和网络,比较特殊就不说了. <br>
