上有巨大的改进.比如AA字体,Gnome/KDE的统一......不过还是有很多地方需要<br>
自己定制以符合个人口味,增强功能.下面总结一下定制的一些东西.可能和以前的<br>
文章重复了.也算一个总结吧.包括字体的安装,界面的美化,和一些extra package<br>
的安装.<br>
<br>
1 Microsoft字体安装<br>
虽然RH8的字体已经很不错了,不过多一点选择总没错的.Microsoft的TrueType<br>
字体一直是以前linux desktop ugly字体的解决方案.现在Microsoft已经取消了<br>
TrueType core fonts的下载,但根据End User License Agreement,除了<br>
Tahoma font,其他的字体还是可以用的.<br>
a. 从<br>
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/corefonts/cabextract-0.6-1.i386.rpm?download<br>
下载cabextract.<br>
b. 从<br>
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/corefonts/msttcorefonts-1.2-3.src.rpm?download<br>
下用于制作RPM的source<br>
c. rpm -ivh msttcorefonts-1.2-3.src.rpm<br>
然后到/usr/src/redhat/SPECS下面,打开msttcorefonts.spec,根据你的需要<br>
选上一个合适的下载font CAB文件的地点.一般情况下不用修改.<br>
d. rpmbuild -bb msttcorefonts.spec<br>
e. cd /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/noarch/<br>
rpm -ivh msttcorefonts-1.2-3.noarch.rpm<br>
f. /sbin/service xfs restart<br>
g. xlsfonts | grep ^-microsoft 验证安装成功<br>

2 SimSun字体安装<br>
看中文SimSun字体还是不错的,虽然已经有了zysong.<br>
a. mkdir /usr/share/default/fonts/TrueType<br>
当然/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts下面也可以建. 缺省的TrueType字体在Type1目录下<br>
b. 把C:Windowsfonts下面的simsun.[ttc|ttf] copy到这个目录下<br>
c. ttmkfdir > fonts.dir<br>
ttmkfdir对字体编码识别有问题,需要自己改一下.<br>
simsun.ttf -misc-SimSun-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-fcd8859-15<br>
修改为<br>
simsun.ttf -misc-SimSun-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-gb2312.1980-0<br>
另外加上这几行:<br>
ai=0.2:simsun.ttc -misc-simsun-medium-o-normal--0-0-0-0-c-0-gb2312.1980-0<br>
ai=0.4:simsun.ttc -misc-simsun-medium-i-normal--0-0-0-0-c-0-gb2312.1980-0<br>

以支持bold, italic font. 别忘了修改fonts.dir的第一行的数字(加9).<br>
d. cp fonts.dir fonts.scale<br>
e. cp /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/encodings/encodings.dir .<br>
f. 修改/etc/X11/XF86Config<br>

4 通明KDE kicker<br>
KDE kicker是指桌面最下面的工具条和任务栏,可以设置成透明.<br>
a. 在KDE Control Center->Look&Feel->Style设成Keramik,选Effect,把<br>
Translucent Menu Effect加上,在最下面调整Alpha值.这样就有通明菜单效果了.<br>
b. 去www.kde-look.org找[Keramik] Transparent Kicker (TARBALL)<br>
(in Theme/Styles->KDE 3.0)<br>
c. 解包运行<br>
export KDEDIR=/usr<br>
./build_trans-keramik<br>

5 Debian的apt-get<br>
Debian的apt-get可以检查RPM的dependencies,随时下载安装或者更新package.<br>
FreshRPM提供了类似的功能,这样不用买Redhat的basic service就可以随时更新<br>
RPM了.<br>
a. 下载:<br>
