置Modem。在Windows下该机使用正常，可是到linux下就无法上网。<br>
我使用的是Red Hat linux 7.2，内核2.4.7-10。Linux检测我的Modem是Win Modem，即所
谓的“软猫”，只适用于Windows系统。<br>
经过一番钻研，发现我的“猫”使用的是Intel公司的Ambient主芯片,型号是MD5628D。在
KDE的控制中心同样可以检测出有PCI的通讯设备和使用的芯片，但无法驱动它。<br>
于是，我又转到Windows下,驱“猫”上网，在Intel的网站上有for linux的驱动
(http://developer.intel.com/design/m...ivers_linux.htm)。<br>
下载该驱动后，在Windows下是一个名为Intel-v92ham.tgz的文件,只有298KB,可以使用软
盘复制或在linux下将Intel-v92ham.tgz的文件复制到任一目录(如Root目录)下。 打开终端窗
口，进入Root目录：<br>
1.使用“ls -a”的命令，可以看到Intel-v92ham.tgz的文件以绿色显示， 这表明是可执
行文件。<br>
2.执行命令,解开这个tgz压缩包： <br>
tar -zxvf Intel-v92ham.tgz<br>
此时会有一个文件列表出现,表示有哪些文件解压成功。<br>
3.然后就会发现在root目录下多出一个蓝色的文件夹，名为Intel-v92ham-425。<br>
4.进入Intel-v92ham-425目录，执行命令编译驱动程序。首先删除所有已有的编译文件：<br>
make clean<br>
然后编译ham文件：<br>
make ham<br>
再将编译的文件进行安装：<br>
make install<br>
至此，驱动程序编译完成。接着将此模块装入内核。<br>
5.导入 hamcore.o模块：<br>
insmod -f hamcore.o<br>
6.导入 ham.o模块：<br>
insmod -f ham.o<br>
7. 删除/dev/ham设备：<br>
rm /dev/ham<br>
8. 重新创建/dev目录下的ham设备：<br>
mknod /dev/ham c 240 1<br>
这里的240是默认的，如不能工作请查看/proc/devices/文件里的ham的major number。<br>
9.链接/dev/ham为/dev/modem：<br>
ln -s /dev/ham /dev/modem<br>
在linux中，/dev/modem设备是默认的Modem设备。<br>
这样，linux就可以识别我的“软猫”了。然后，用“minicom”等软件测试Modem的情况，
显示“OK”则表明Modem设置正确,可以被linux识别，并且可以正常工作了。<br>
再试着输入“AT”，如果回答“OK”，则可以开始拨号。<br>
输入“ATD163”,此时听到“小猫”一阵叽叽喳喳欢叫后,然后就可以看到连接信息和远程系统的信息提示：<br>

CONNECT 115200<br>
上面这些代码说明Modem已经可以使用了。由于不同的Modem驱动程序不同，因此无法一一<br>
细解。本文只是介绍安装的思路，供大家参考。<br>
