<P>I am writing an SDI app that uses many different views. Changing from one view to another is not a problem. In some of the views, however, I'd like to us a splitter, and in each pane, place views as _children_ of the view which contains the splitter.
<P>I can get the spliiter created with the child views, and managed to route notification from the splitter back to the parent view. The problem arises when creating a new view, so that the &quot;child&quot; views are attached to the document. Usually, the child views are simple views, like CEditView or CListView, and are not derived classes. The contents are managed by the parent View.
<P>I have managed to get the child views attached to the document, which is important for proper command-message routing. However, when the parent view is removed from the document, there is no easy way to detach the child views from the document as well, except to delete the entire parent view each time.
<P>Basically, what I'd like is a way to place a splitter within a view, using simple child views as panes, and maintain the proper command-message routing.
<P>Any Ideas?
<P>Also, has any one come up with a (relatively) simple way to layout controls in a view (similar to CFormView, for example) such that they are automatically resized in a predetermined way as the window is resized? (Those who've used Borland's OWL will recognize this is a TLayoutWindow).
