<P>I need help determining the correct way to load bitmaps in CStatic controls.
<BR>Currently I have 2 approaches that work but the first one I don't like and the
<BR>second I don't understand.
<P>1) I have 2 class member var's:
<BR>          CStatic m_bmWnd;
<BR>          CBitmap m_bm;
<P>   My code looks like:
<BR>          function()
<BR>          {
<BR>            m_bmWnd.Create(...., ...|SS_BITMAP, ..., IDC_STATIC);
<BR>            m_bm.LoadBitmap(resID);
<BR>            m_bmWnd.SetBitmap(m_bm);
<BR>            ...
<BR>          } 
<BR>          sometime later I call m_bm.DestroyObject();
<BR>   While this method works fine, I have many of these classes in a list and I      have to use the extra memory to store all the CBitmap m_bm var's. When I       tried making the CBitmap var a local in the function, the bitmaps originally    displayed but the don't repaint themselves I assume because the bitmap gets
<BR>   destroyed when it goes out of scope.
<P>2) I have 1 class member var:
<BR>          CStatic m_bmWnd;
<P>   My code looks like:

<BR>            CBitmap tbm.
<BR>            tbm.LoadBitmap(resID);

<BR>            tbm.DeleteObject();
<BR>            ...
<BR>          } 
<BR>    The problem with this is the Detach() sets the bitmap handle to NULL so I       can't free it when i'm done.  If I just call DeleteObject() then the bitmaps
<BR>    disappear as in ex. 1. And why do I have to call DeleteObject on a local var     as the MFC doc suggests.
<P>Any help explaining this or the best approach would be greatly appreciated.
