 Samsa-dix -- Dictionary Generator <br>

  <br>

Samsa-dix is a dictionary Generator for UNIX password cracking. <br>

It generates words in chinese pronunciatin notation (Han4 Yu3 <br>

Pin1 Yin1),up to 3 syllables each,especially designed to crack <br>

password derived from the Chinese names----actually lots of <br>

people use the name of themselves or people related to them as <br>

password : at least it's stronger than a password that's identical <br>

to the account or only a slight variant of the latter. <br>

 How to Install <br>

First try: <br>

        make <br>

if it fails, <br>

        vi Makefile <br>

modify <br>

        CC=cc <br>

to <br>

        CC=<the C compiler used on your box> <br>

(make sure there do be a C complier on you box),then ``make'' again. <br>

Most probably this time you will get it,otherwise contact the author. <br>

 How to Use <br>

------------ <br>

The synopsis is: <br>

        dicgen  [syllables] outfile <br>

in which: <br>

        syllables               how many syllables the generated words <br>

                                contain up to 3 is OK. <br>

        outfile                 the file which holds the words <br>

When it begins to run,it immediately goes background and gives up its <br>

controlling terminal,so don't think something is wrong if it returns <br>

so quickly.Just wait for the result.You can even close your terminal <br>

window and let it run by itself. <br>

 Efficiently usage <br>

You can run: <br>

        dicgen 1 words1                 #        1784 bytes <br>

        dicgen 2 words2                 #   1,271,982 bytes <br>

        dicgen 3 words3                 # 204,762,019 bytes   Is it big enough? <br>

and run: <br>

        pwd_crack -wordfile:words1 -rules password <br>

        pwd_crack -wordfile:words2 -rules password <br>

        pwd_crack -wordfile:words3 -rules password <br>

in order,incrementally,and may save your time by this way. <br>

 Advanced usage <br>

Uncomment in dicgen.c: <br>

        #define FIRSTCAP <br>

        or | and <br>

        #define ALLCAP <br>

and then ``make'',you can get more words----quite a lot more!!! <br>

By default, all letters are small in the generated words, <br>

when FIRSTCAP is defined,you also get words contain syllables whose <br>



first letter is capital; <br>

when ALLCAP   is defined,you also get words contain syllables whose <br>

all   letter is capital; <br>
