The Uncle and Unty <br>treated me nicely, but tell the truth, I don't like the way<br>they talking about their daughter, who came to USA in Middle <br>School, and got Bachlor at　USA, now is married and working <br>in (some place in USA). They talked about her with such a <br>pride, then in evening, the daughter called her parents, with<br>the tone of a little little girl. Then I realized why I <br>don't like it, 'cause I never talked with my parents in such <br>a way. <br>In night I cried for a while, I don't know why, even I missed <br>my family and dreamed them for several evenings, I still can't <br>say some close words when calling. Why can't I overcome this <br>obstacle for such a long time?<br><br>
What do u think about it? <br><br>
<br>中国人的亲情<br>提交者: 霏霏 于 北京时间: 09:53:39 9/08/98:<br>答复: 亲情 [提交者: Alley 于 北京时间: 22:55:37 9/07/98:]<br>　　西方人比较喜欢把＂I love you＂挂在嘴边，而中国人的习惯，<br>开口头道出款款情深，多数是父母对子女会直接表达疼爱之情，而子<br>女很少开口对爸爸妈妈说一句：我爱你们．再多的思念都深埋心底．<br>　　有一次看到一篇文章，大意是说，要在你爱的人还能听到你的话<br>的时侯表达心声，否则将后悔莫及．后来看到那个美国片子＂ghost＂<br>（香港把片名译成＂人鬼情未了＂），男女主人公阴阳相隔的时侯，<br>男主角想对他的女友说一句＂我爱你＂，却已是不能，那份情真意切，<br>感人肺腑．不止爱情，亲情何尝也不是如此？<br>　　俺以前也从来不会开口说出自己的牵挂，看了这文章，电影，感<br>触良多，小时候甚至今天，总是父母对我说：走路小心，好好照顾自<br>己；我也应该经常对爸爸妈妈说：请你们多多保重，爱惜自己，无论<br>子女走到海角天涯，父母永远是子女心中最坚实的精神支柱．让爸爸<br>妈妈知道子女的牵挂，便是给父母最大的安慰． <br><br>

Most of us come from OK families<br>in China, with good school records. The society provides <br>a fairly safe nets for us to fall upon on when needed.<br>However, the moment you land on US, you become a student <br>from a third world country. Even you come with good financial <br>support, (which was almost unheard of in my time), you lost <br>most of your social connection and status. How effetive and <br>quickly you can adjust youself is very key to your survivability <br>in US.<br>I speculating that your friend is envy of his or her <br>uncle's daughter somewhat that she is 'the kid with roots'. <br>Please tell your friend that we all share his loneless and <br>frustration when we landed here. I will never forget<br>those countless long and lonely nights when I waked up with <br>tears wet the whole pillow. It is very hard to establish yourself <br>without social roots, but most of my friends have achieved. With <br>a persistency, your friend should be able to do so too. And, <br>please remember, short cuts are often lead to regrets.<br><br>
