<p><font size="3">This applet deforms a selected image
as if you see it through a corrugated glass. The effect
is based on the interference of two moving radial waves
<b>W1</b> and <b>W2</b>. Say, there are two distortion
filters moving around over a selected image. Each filter
moves like a pendulum defined by the initial velocities
(<b>Xv, Yv</b>) and the length of the cycle.</font></p>

<p>First, choose an image to be deformed. <font size="3">The
applet "<b>Width</b>" and "<b>Height</b>"
are automatically entered when you specify the
screen image and a "<b>Resolution</b>"
value. "<b>Resolution</b>" is a zooming
parameter. </font></p>

<p><b>(1) Roughness of the filters:</b></p>
<p>"<b>Distortion Value</b>" decides
the roughness of distortion filters from
0 to 500. A smaller value stands for less
rough filter, which results in many waving
mesh-like texture. In addition, "<b>Offset</b>"
values control a similar effect. A larger
value up to the applet "<b>Width</b>"
for "<b>Offset</b>" empowers the
complex waving texture. If this value is
too small, there are virtually no wavings.</p>
<p><b>(2) The power of distortion:</b></p>
<p>The power of the filters is determined
by "<b>Distortion Factor</b>",
which takes a value between 1 and 100. Smaller
values cause less distortion, while higher
values do less.</p>
<p><b>(3) The motion of the filters:</b></p>
<p>Now set the movement of two filters. (<b>Xv1,
Yv1</b>) and (<b>Xv2, Yv2</b>) are the initial
velocities of two filters <b>W1, W2</b>.
They repeat periodic movements defined by
these values and the common cycle. The length
of the cycle is calculated by "<b>Speed</b>"
parameter. When a "<b>Speed</b>"
value is high, the cycle of the pendulumic
movement of two filters is short.</p>
