<P>It seems to be well within the specs (well, maybe someone excepts that at least all nonshareable resources are cleaned up after the process exits).
<BR>It is not clear to me whether the handle could be used globally, but I could imagine that different processes could initiate and shutdown a connection without having one program hanging around waiting for shutdown.
<BR>Whatever &quot;global&quot; memory Rasdial needs, it is in fact at least 4KBytes (one page).
<BR>The specs say:
<P>An application must eventually call RasHangUp whenever a non-NULL connection handle is stored into *lphRasConn. This applies even if RasDial returns a nonzero (error) value. 
<P>.. so this code surely isn't well behaved and will drain ressources.
<BR>Surely Win32 is now much more robust with ressources (remember the times when GDI or User heap approached 0K  and Windows tended to behave funnily after debugging code that didn磘 clean up after itself ?)
