<P>This is almost a repost of a &quot;Me To&quot; answer I gave yesterday to someone - just to state that it's a question :)
<P>I have an app, written in VC 4.2 (I began it in BC 4 and some time switched to VC) that has to run under Win16 too. It runs without problems under Win32 in debug and release mode. I have compiled it under VC 1.52 and after some minor changes (mainly because of lacks and bugs in MFC 2.5) it got it to run fine in debug mode (I didn't use threads etc.) In release mode, it used to crash at different occasions without any visible motivation. I removed all optimizations and all went O.K.; afterwards I played some time with different optimizations, but all I got was more or less crashes - I couldn't find a configuration that did run well for a reasonable time. I even wasn't able to find some reproducable error - the crashs seemed to occur randomly. I decided to leave it without optimimization to be on the secure side, but it is just disgusting.
<BR>I have no idea what get wrong - maybe some code I wrote that's buggy under Win16 but not under Win32, or some bugs in the optimization itself...
<BR>If anyone else has similar experiences or some clues about that I would appreciate it a lot.
